Terms & Conditions

Contract for the Supply of Products or Services
No contract for the supply of products or goods will be deemed to exist between you and Japanese Kitchen Ltd unless, and until, we send an email to you confirming that your order has been accepted and payment has been successfully made.

This confirmation e-mail amounts to an acceptance by us of your offer to buy goods or services from our website and this acceptance is effective regardless of whether or not you receive the e-mail.

Japanese Kitchen Ltd is free to withdraw from a prospective contract at any time prior to acceptance. This also applies in the case of any error or inaccuracy in respect of the goods or services, any description applied to the goods or services, the availability of the goods or services, or the order itself.

Availability of Goods
All goods advertised for sale on our site are subject to availability. If an item turns out to be unavailable we will inform you by email or by telephone.
We will advise of a re-stock date, offer a suitable replacement or refund out of stock items.

We will not charge you for goods that we cannot supply. However we will not be responsible for any damage or losses that you may suffer if we fail to supply goods.

We have attempted to display the goods on the site as accurately and fairly as possible but are subject to the available reproduction techniques.

Prices & VAT
The prices displayed on our site are correct at the time of display. However we reserve the right to alter prices from time to time without notice. When we have accepted an order we will not change the price that applies to that order.

We make every effort to maintain prices but these may be subject to variations caused by factors beyond our control.

The prices displayed are inclusive of VAT at the current standard rate. VAT is charged on all products that carry VAT in the UK.
If you are shopping from a country that is exempt from VAT charges, please contact us with your VAT No before placing order.

The majority of our food products are zero-rated for VAT purposes.
The exceptions are some confectionery, products with alcohol and all tableware/cookware products.

In the case of an incorrectly priced product or products, due to typographical error, pricing error received from a third party, an unauthorised price alteration, or an unforeseen error, we reserve the right to decline or delete any orders incorrectly priced.

Customers Obligations
By placing your order you confirm that you agree to use your correct name, address and email and to supply any other details reasonably requested.
Confirmation of your order and order updates will be sent to your email address so please ensure this is entered correctly.

Payment & Security
Our products are available to purchase online via a simple and secured process.

We use WorldPay, one of the largest online payment service providers (PSP) in the world to process all credit/debit card transactions on this site.

Your details are transmitted with the highest level of encryption available. This makes them very secure. As an online PSP, WorldPay handle your card details, run extensive security checks and obtain card authorisation. We don't have any access to your card details. This system provides real peace of mind for all parties.

We accept Visa Credit, Mastercard, Maestro, Delta(Visa Debit), Solo and Amex. You can also pay with your PayPal account through Worldpay.
Although you can view our prices in different currencies, we only accept payment in either UK Pounds or Euros.

You can also pay by British Bank cheque in sterling (GBP) or by Bank Transfer.
Cheques made payable to Japanese Kitchen Ltd.
If paying by cheque, items will only be dispatched once cheque has cleared.

Credit and charge card payments are subject to validation and authorisation by the card issuer and we will not be liable for any non-delivery or delay if a card issuer refuses to authorise payment.

Nothing in these terms and conditions is to be taken to exclude or restrict rights granted to you by law in respect of goods supplied. Some goods may be the subject of additional warranties or guarantees given by the their manufacturers direct to you.

We do not accept responsibility for damage to goods caused by you.

We will not be liable to any person for damage or loss arising from the use of goods advertised on our site.

Without prejudice to your statutory rights the information contained in this site is provided without warranty and in particular we do not represent or warrant that the information is accurate, complete or current or that the use of this site will be uninterrupted or error free.

The ingredients listings and allergy advice have been prepared for information purposes only. While we have taken care in preparing this information and believe it is accurate, it is not a substitute for you reading the product packaging and label prior to use. Japanese Kitchen Ltd is therefore unable to accept liability for any incorrect information.

UK Conditions

1.We deliver to all UK destinations, including Northern Ireland, Scottish Islands, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, & Scilly Isles.

2. Delivery is by Royal Mail or Parcelforce couriers.

3. Delivery charges are based on weight of your order, destination and delivery speed. Our online store will calculate exact delivery charges once you’ve added items to basket and selected a delivery method.

4. Once your order has been placed and confirmed we will aim to dispatch ‘in stock’ orders within 3 business days, quicker if possible.
You should expect to receive your goods 1 – 7 working days after dispatch depending on shipping method selected. Delivery times on all postage options is only a guide and is not guaranteed except for Special Next Day services to UK mainland.

5. Our office is closed at weekends so orders received during this time will be processed commencing the following Monday. Deliveries are usually during working hours Monday to Friday.

6. Although we always make every effort to deliver goods within the estimated time, delays are occasionally inevitable and we have no control over it. As we use third parties(Royal Mail & Parcelforce) for all our postal services we are subject to their terms and conditions.

7. Our next day service is only guaranteed for UK mainland addresses.
Cut off time for next day delivery is 12 noon. Orders received after this time will be dispatched following day.

8. The time of delivery shall not be the essence of the contract and any failure by us to make delivery on any particular date shall not entitle the customer to terminate this agreement or refuse the delivery or to claim for any expenses, loss of profits or other consequential losses whatsoever.

9. No contract will exist between us and the customer until goods are dispatched. Acceptance will be deemed complete and effectively communicated at this time. Ownership of the goods will pass to the customer on receipt of payment and dispatch of the goods.

10. If stock is not available and we are therefore unable to deliver within our usual delivery time, you will be notified as soon as possible and offered an alternative product or a refund for out of stock item(s) or the opportunity to cancel your order and receive a full refund.

11. If an incorrect address has been given to us with the order, we reserve the right to charge for any extra carriage costs incurred for redelivery. Please ensure you enter the correct postcode during checkout.

12. If you have not yet received your order and feel that you should have done by this time, please feel free to contact us & we will help all we can.
The majority of the time when this happens, items are actually awaiting collection at your local Royal Mail sorting office. 'While you were out' cards should be left by your postman but we can assure you that this is not always the case! Please make contact with your local sorting office to see if anything is awaiting collection for you.

13. In the unfortunate case of a product being lost in the post, we will seek compensation from Royal Mail or Parcelforce, and if they declare your order lost we will offer a full refund.

14. If for any reason your order is returned to us by Royal Mail or Parcelforce because they can't complete a delivery we reserve the right to charge the customer for redelivery or deduct delivery charges from refund of order depending on exact reasons for non-delivery.

Europe Conditions
We accept orders from and deliver to the following countries outside of UK:-
Belgium, Netherlands And Luxembourg France, Germany, Denmark, Monaco, Italy, Spain, Portugal And Greece
Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Lithuania, Norway
Poland, San Marino, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Estonia, Latvia, Malta, Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Gibraltar, Cyprus, Iceland.

Orders dispatched to these countries usually takes between 4 – 10 business days to arrive.

We DO NOT deliver to USA or any other worldwide destinations.
We reserve the right to cancel any order received from a country we do not deliver to.

Returns & Refunds
Under the European Union Distance Selling Directive you are entitled to a 7-day cooling off period. This means you can return your order in its original condition unopened to us within 7 days of the date on which you receive it.
You will be responsible for the item or items until they reach us.
For your own protection, we suggest you use a secure delivery method that requires a signature upon delivery. ( e.g. Royal Mail Recorded or Special delivery). Note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the goods to us unless we delivered the item to you in error.

Refunds are given at the discretion of Japanese Kitchen Ltd. If any goods are returned incomplete, damaged, soiled, or used, then we reserve the right to impose a charge proportionate with our costs of processing the sale. We reserve the right to restrict returns to unopened or defective products at our discretion.

Any failure by us to enforce any of these terms and conditions will not affect our right to enforce the rest of those terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions may be subject to change at any time without prior notice to you.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law.

Privacy Policy
We are committed to protecting your privacy.
We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service.
We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent.
We do not disclose buyers’ information to third parties.

The type of information we will collect about you includes your name, address, phone number, and email address. We do not store or have access to your credit/debit card details. We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information, which we hold, will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law. Cookies are used on this site, but only to keep track patterns of behaviour and to maintain the contents of your shopping cart.
Data collected by this site is used to: a. Take and fulfil customer orders b. Administer and enhance the site and service c. Only disclose information to third parties for goods delivery purposes.
