This is a type of Japanese pickle made from thin strips of ginger. The ginger strips are pickled in salt water and vinegar. Beni means red and shoga means ginger in Japanese.
Beni or Sengiri Shoga is served as a topping on many Japanese dishes especially yakisoba noodles and okonomiyaki.
Not to be confused with Sushi ginger( Gari).
