1. Q: How do I register on your site?
A: You will be given the opportunity to register during the checkout process. Once you've made a selection and clicked on checkout, you will be asked for an email address. After this you can set up a password, delivery & billing details. Next time you visit and login, your details will be pre-filled.

2. Q: How long will it take to receive my order?
A: In most of cases, you will receive your order within 1 - 5 working days after confirmation depending on shipping method selected. We aim to dispatch as quickly as possible, normally within 1-3 days of receipt of order. We do offer a next day delivery service for UK Mainland only, on orders received before 12 noon.

3. Q: Do you offer gift-wrapping or gift vouchers?
A: Sorry at the present time we do not offer these services.

4. Q: Can I have my order sent to another address, for example work?
A: Yes. You can give an alternate address in the delivery Information area during checkout. However, the billing address that you provide must match the address where your monthly credit card statement is sent.

5. Q: Do your prices include VAT?
A: The prices displayed on this site include VAT where applicable at the current rate. Most items are zero-rated. Main VAT applicable items are tableware, cookware, mirin, sake and some sweets. The shopping cart & invoices will display the VAT separately for taxation purposes.

6. Q: I've received an item, which I think is past its best before date. Can I return it?
A: First, check the format of the date. Our products mainly come from Japan, USA & UK.
These countries show best before dates differently  - UK is Day/Month/Year; USA is Month/Day/Year
; JAPAN is Year/Month/Day.
Of course, in the unlikely event that you've received an out of date item, please contact us for a full refund.

A: No Japanese Kitchen is a retailer only.
However, if you’re looking to buy bulk quantities of certain items, we may be able to offer a discount. Contact us for details.

A: Yes, we have a small store in Woodchester, Stroud, Gloucestershire. Open Mon- Fri 10.00am - 4.30pm

A: No. The best way to see our latest products and correct prices is through our online store.

10. Q: What forms of payment does Japanese Kitchen accept?
A: We accept: Visa Credit, Mastercard, Maestro, Delta (Visa Debit), Solo, Amex or Paypal. You can also pay by British Bank cheque or Postal Order in pounds sterling. (Made payable to Japanese Kitchen Ltd). You can also pay by Bank Transfer.

11. Q: Do you accept payment in other currencies?
A: We currently accept payment in Pounds (GBP) or Euros (EUR) for all debit/credit transactions. Payment in Pounds (GBP) only for cheques.

12. Q: How does Japanese Kitchen package my order?
A: We use packing paper & cardboard to protect and ship your items. We take care packing every order and ensure that breakables are well protected.

13. Q: What if I'm not satisfied with my purchase?
A: If you are unsatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase within 7 days for a full refund.

14. Q: What if I receive a damaged item?
A: Please keep the item and all packaging materials (box, filler, and wrapping) and contact Japanese Kitchen as soon as possible. These items are necessary for us to initiate a claim against the postal carrier.
Japanese Kitchen will issue a full refund of the purchase price, all shipping charges to the buyer and all return shipping charges if we request to have the item sent back to us.

15. Q: What if I receive the wrong item?
A: Please contact Japanese Kitchen as soon as possible. We will issue a full refund of the purchase price and shipping charges.

16. Q: Does Japanese Kitchen have an Affiliate Program?
A: At the present time, we do not have a formal affiliate program in place.

17. Q: Do you sell Edamame (Soybeans in pod), Natto (Fermented Soybean), Tobiko (flying fish roe) or Unagi (Eel Fillet)?
A: These items are frozen and so not suitable for home delivery. However, we can order these items if you are prepared to collect
them from our store in Stroud. Please contact us first as we don't always hold stock but would order them in for you.

18. Q: I have received an item with Japanese instructions, can you translate for me?
A: We always try to include English instructions with any food item that does not already carry English information. If you do receive an item that you are not sure how to use please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll provide a translation.

19. Q: Can you supply me with raw fish suitable for making sushi?
A: Sorry we do not sell fish. We recommend you purchase fish from a local reputable fishmonger or fish market. Always buy as fresh as possible.
